Somerset House has a variety of events spaces suitable for receptions, private dining and celebrations.

Choose from rooms with an aesthetically raw finish, dramatic pillars and high ceilings to atmospheric spaces hidden from the public gaze, secret nooks and crannies one level below our famous fountains.

There is an abundance of blank canvas spaces featuring beautiful high ceilings and light-filled windows, with a series of open-plan, interlinking rooms with plenty of space and natural light. Perfect for corporate events including press days and drinks receptions. Guests are able to brand the space as they like, giving a real sense of occasion to your guests.

Pennethornes and San Miguel Terrace Bar are also available for your next event.

Somerset House is delighted to introduce a range of Christmas packages for the festive season.

Dipna Anand - Restaurant & Bar

Dipna's latest restaurant at Somerset House is a celebration of years of experience cooking authentic Indian food which has won her industry awards and accolades as well as guest slots on various cooking TV shows.

Heroing the authentic Punjabi and South Indian cuisine that Dipna is known and loved for, the menu features signature dishes including samosa chat blast, Delhi makhana chicken and dynamite wings alongside a wonderful weekend brunch menu, classic thali plates and traditional dishes on the a la carte menu like South-Indian prawn curry.

Pennethornes

Open all day, this stylish bar in the New Wing offers an extensive list of drinks: contemporary cocktails, craft beers and wines, plus coffees and teas. You can sit at brass-topped tables, at the marble bar or outside on the terrace. Regular events include a monthly wine masterclass.

Pennethorne’s is named after Sir James Pennethorne, who designed Somerset House’s New Wing. The architect’s grand tour through France and Italy in the 1820s has inspired the food such as beef cheek on toast and smoked mackerel; plus nibbles such as maple-glazed bacon peanuts and Gordal olives.

The drawing room is available for private hire.

San Miguel Terrace Bar

The sheltered and heated open-air bar takes inspiration from San Miguel’s Spanish origins, bringing a lively, warm and inviting atmosphere to the River Terrace - the ultimate destination to reunite with friends from sunrise to sunset.

Guests will be able to enjoy San Miguel Especial as well as 0,0%, gluten-free and beer cocktails will also be on offer. A delicious menu of small plates, inspired by San Miguel’s Iberian roots, has been specially crafted to perfectly complement the drinks selection.

EAT TEN Cafe

Within our menus we proudly champion the craft and talent of local and responsible suppliers, many of whom are social enterprises. This supports community organisations and sustainable food production.

With a plant-forward menu that prioritises British sourcing and a commitment to ethically reared meat and Marine Stewardship Council 1-3 rated fish, EAT TEN aims to reduce its carbon footprint and support more biodiverse agriculture.

Combined with the Coffee for Causes blend - a coffee that does more than just taste good - the goal is to support a wide range of charities from the Outside Project to Off the Streets.

The philosophy is simple - use only the highest quality ingredients with the lowest possible delivery miles to minimise the carbon footprint.

Our event at Somerset House was a great success. From the initial enquiry to the main event we were looked after by a highly professional team who were on hand to assist every step of the way.
