The Design Kitchen Highly Commended at the Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster Business Awards 2025

We’re delighted to announce that the Design Kitchen, the restaurant we proudly operate within the Design Museum, was highly commended in the ‘Bar or Restaurant of the Year’ category at the Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster Business Awards 2025!

This incredible success recognises the passion, creativity and innovation our team brings to every dish and experience. It also celebrates our ongoing partnership with the Design Museum, where we’re proud to deliver dining experiences that complement their inspiring displays.

From our Tim Burton-inspired afternoon tea to the plant-based menu celebrating the More than Human exhibition, 2025 has been a year defined by imagination and innovation.

Our World of Tim Burton afternoon tea became one of our most popular menus to date, with over 4,000 teas served in just five months! Featuring playful creations like the Fleet Street barber shop pole cookie sandwich and A Recently Deceased Tart, it brought Burton’s weird and wonderful worlds to life in edible form.

We’ve since continued to push boundaries with innovative, exhibition-inspired dishes that reflect the Design Museum’s ever-evolving programme and our commitment to creativity in hospitality.

This recognition is a testament to the talent, dedication and artistry of our chefs, front-of-house team and everyone who contributes to making the Design Kitchen a destination in its own right. Their ability to craft immersive dining experiences, inspired by art, film and culture, sets us apart.

As we look ahead, we’re excited to launch our next themed menu in celebration of Wes Anderson: The Archives in November. Guests can expect a Grand Budapest Hotel-inspired Courtesan au Chocolat alongside a collection of whimsical, Wes-inspired treats.

Thank you to everyone who has dined with us, supported our creative journey and helped make this possible. Here’s to more inspired flavours and unforgettable experiences at the Design Kitchen.
