On Wednesday 13th November it was Maria G’s Kensington's turn to host a Supper Club and we were incredibly excited to have partner chef, Dipna Anand wow our guests with a vibrant four course menu celebrating the very best of Indian food and its rich tapestry of flavours.
With dishes including poppadoms with mango chutney, pani puri, and a stunning lamb samosa chaat dish, Dipna took guests on a sensory adventure, introducing them to the colour and diversity of Indian street food.
Her personal touch in explaining the inspiration and techniques behind each dish added a storytelling element, turning the dinner into more than just a meal—it became a shared experience.
We got to speak to her just before service ended and she had this to say:
“Collaborating with the team at Restaurant Associates on this supper club was a fantastic experience. Events like this mean so much to me because they allow me to connect more closely with my guests, which is truly special. I designed this menu as a culinary journey through India, showcasing the best of both Punjabi and South Indian flavours. For starters, I selected a samosa chaat—a dish packed with bold, layered flavours that instantly transport you to the streets of India. It set the tone for the main course, where guests could enjoy a variety of signature dishes like rich butter chicken, saag paneer, warm naan bread, and fragrant cumin-infused pilau rice. Each dish reflected a piece of my culinary heritage and gave guests a chance to experience my personal favourites.
“For dessert, I created a special spiced mandarin cheesecake. Its subtle warmth, combined with the citrusy brightness, made it a refreshing palate cleanser to end the meal. The supper club sold out almost instantly which was truly overwhelming. Moments like these remind me why I love creating dining experiences that bring people together, sharing culture, flavour, and a bit of spice in every bite.”
As 2024 draws to a close, we’re looking forward to bringing a variety of Supper Clubs to Maria G’s Kensington and Fulham in the new year.
