Afternoon Tea with Cherish Finden

This month we hosted an exclusive Afternoon Tea event at our beautiful new venue in Kensington, Maria G’s. This special event brought together some of our brilliant Woman in Food ambassadors alongside the incredibly talented Cherish Finden, judge of Bake Off: The Professionals.

Our guests were treated to an exquisite selection of delights, each dish thoughtfully crafted to tantalise the taste buds. The menu featured Teriyaki cured salmon, a curry bun with bang bang chicken, nori and peanut crumble, and classic cucumber sandwiches elevated with kaffir lime cream cheese and pickled ginger. To complement the savoury treats, guests were also served a selection of plain and matcha scones, accompanied by clotted cream, rare Hibiscus flowers jelly, and Kentish strawberry jam.

Leanne De’Ath, our Head Pastry Chef at Restaurant Associates, played a key role in the culinary team at the event and shared her experience: “I had a fantastic time assisting at Maria G’s Afternoon Tea, celebrating with Cherish. It was a valuable experience learning various pastry techniques, from constructing intricate elements to decoration and enhancing dessert presentation. My favourite was the seaweed sable, miso caramel, and dulcey, as it offered a mix of sweet and savoury flavours.”
