We are delighted that Restaurant Associates has been nominated as ‘Best caterer of the year’ in the Foodservice Cateys and PSC awards this month. We caught up with Business Director Shaun Fitzgibbon to ask him about the operation over the past year.
Shaun says “Despite the challenges we have achieved a lot in the past year such as the launch of our new guest experience training programme ‘SHINE’, as well we developing a new health and wellbeing offer as our response to tackling employee wellness in both its physical and mental capacities.
I am also really pleased to see the progress made on our training and apprentice programmes ensuring associates at all levels are able to progress in their career and enhance their skillsets.
We continued by asking Shaun about what actions Restaurant Associates has taken to minimise our environmental impact, he says “Earlier this year we signed the UN’s Race to Zero campaign and have pledged to reach Net Zero by 2030 through ambitious levels of change, innovation, collaboration and investment to make a meaningful difference to our clients, customers and the planet. I am delighted by the progress made to date reducing food waste, single use plastics, promoting plant forward menus and reducing our carbon footprint but there is still a lot more planned in the coming years.”
