Ahead of the StrEATfood Awards, our Head of Culinary Ben Harman has just featured in this months edition of Contract Catering Magazine discussing his passion for authentic street food. Ben says about our food ethos: Authentic food is at the heart of everything we do, and I’d say there is an element of street food across all of our estate. We work with our suppliers to create original dishes – for example, Lake District farmers make a Restaurant Associates dirty burger that is only served at our sites.
Having won the StrEATfood Awards twice, you could say some of our street food dishes are award-winning! We’re so passionate about the awards that, in order to put our best street food dish forward, we run our own heats and the winner is our StrEATfood Awards submission.
We’re hugely proud of our relationship with established street food giant KERB Food, who we’ve enjoyed an exclusive partnership with since October. Bringing them into the office spaces and venues at our prestigious contracts has enabled us to dial-up our creativity at one-off and larger client events, as well as providing a delectable array of dishes from across the globe to our guests.
Street food is so integral to our business that later this year we’ve arranged for our level two apprenticeship cohort to experience working alongside the Kerb traders at its Seven Dials indoor market in Covent Garden. What a great opportunity to witness how this key part of food culture has become such an important part of our business".
